Well, you know, Duane, I’d love to forget job boards, but I’m looking wherever I might find good news. Looking for some social networking in my area and may have found something on Wednesday evenings. What’s “Web 2.0″?

    Stephanie,

I understand the need to check job boards for a possible fit but I think many will agree, if that’s the extent of your job search, you are in for a long haul.

Web 2.0 refers to the 2nd generation of web sites and applications, development & web design. These sites allow you to effectively share information, are user focused & allow you to collaborate online. Examples would be social-networking, video-sharing sites, blogs and mashups.

Popular web 2.0 site are Twitter, FaceBook, MySpace, YouTube, FlickR, digg, Technorati.

Job search 2.0 style would include:

    http://www.careerunleashed.com (my site)
    VisualCV
    Simplyhired
    Indeed
    JobFox
    Glassdoor
    Jobster

Hope that helps to clarify what I was referring to.

Duane, you are the man! Thanks for the education. I will definitely check out your site. Actually, I am searching via many avenues. Law firms are still laying off and I’ve been entertaining the thought of looking to a different career that can use my skills.
